For a short break, a direct flight can be worth paying more for. A connection that is reasonable on a long holiday may consume too much of a weekend.
Searching nearby airports can reveal lower fares, but include the transfer cost and travel time between the airport and the city centre.
Compare complete trip cost
Low-cost fares may exclude cabin baggage, seats or airport check-in. Add those costs before deciding, and compare arrival airports rather than relying only on the city label.
